HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitor

Answer: c- Atorvastatin
Atorvastatin is a competitive inhibitor of enzyme HMG Co-A Reductase.  HMG Co-A is reduced to mevalonate in the presence of enzyme HMG Co-A reductase, which is a rate limiting step in the biosynthesis of cholesterol, thus the inhibition of HMG Co-A reductase helps lower serum cholesterol levels. Atorvastatin lowers serum LDL and triglycerides levels and slightly increases serum HDL levels.
